The Aguadito de Pollo is thick chicken soup or is also considered a stew of broth rice, from the Peruvian cuisine traditionally consumed in winter and consisting of cooking rice, chicken, cilantro, and vegetables.
It is made with large chunks of chicken, and additional ingredients used may include yellow potatoes, corn, peas, carrots, chili peppers, and various spices. It usually has a pronounced green coloring due to a significant amount of coriander used in soup.
In Peru, the Aguadito de Pollo is also called dead lifter because its consumption is usually at dawn at the end of a party or celebration, and is linked to a theoretical potential to alleviate the symptoms associated with hangovers
